It is not everyday that we are given chances to make a difference…and a difference to a child’s life, one that can tomorrow lead nations, is an opportunity only a chosen few are given!
So, it came as no surprise when our Founder, Rahil, called a few of us to his room to discuss the feasibility of this tentative project in hand. For our CSR initiative, we decided to pay a visit to a well …
Its one of those cloudy yet not-so-cloudy days where the sun feigns non existence and the next minute, shines right in your face!
A group of youngsters slouch against a brightly coloured wall clearly on a break. The quietness is welcome—only ever so slightly interjected with the clicking of the keys on a computer or the distant laughter of the people upstairs.
To the untrained eye, we probably resemble a chaotic, wannabe start-up desperately trying
It’s that time of the month. Again.
You heard me.
We’re almost in the 11th month of the year. The days have flown by so fast-it puts a cheetah to shame! It feels like yesterday when my now very active toddler took her first steps or her feisty sister started school. Wasn’t it just summertime when we went cycling in the sun?
We’ve come around almost full circle again.
It began somewhere between …
Today was a good day.
Leanna woke up at 2 in the morning wanting to ‘potty’! I woke up to her screaming bloody murder at the top of her lungs and it took my groggy brain a couple of minutes before I lunged out of bed and tried to tip toe out of our room in an attempt to be quiet. I failed. Miserably.
Aria is crying now and my husband is desperately trying to …
I had someone recently ask me-
“How is it you always look like this… like it’s so easy?”
I was pleasantly surprised and honestly, intrigued.
Does she really know what my morning was like? The baby woke up at 5! Yup, 5am…as opposed to the usual 6am! I had to drag my feet out of bed to attend to her but I guess I was too slow because her screams woke up my toddler and …
There must’ve been a lot of pacing up in heaven during those final hours before Jesus was hung on the cross.
Towards the end of His torturous ordeal when Jesus cried out to his Father and asked Him why He’d forsaken Him, I’m quite certain God had to to do everything He could to NOT go back on His word- but, He knew he had to do it! It must’ve been heart-wrenching to have known
It wasn’t love at first sight. There, I said it!
Nobody, absolutely no one can prepare you for the tumultuous ride of what being a mother is and the demands that it can come with!
After an exciting and uneventful nine months and a 14 hour long labour, they handed me my little ‘bundle of joy’ and though my joy did know no bounds, it was short lived! Mind you, I was thrilled that I …
A few things I’ve learnt being a mum of two under two:
- Have you ever tried to carry a wobbly 4 month old and a screaming 21 month old at the same time? Well, I have and it sure is no easy feat but it just goes to show that the term ‘weaker sex’ holds absolutely no significance whatsoever!
- Putting a sleeping baby down is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to
“LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.” – Isaiah 25:1 NIV
I was about 4 weeks pregnant with our second baby when I got this verse during my quiet time. I was still reeling from the shock (and excitement!) of finding out that we’re expecting AGAIN- barely 9 months after I had my first! It felt
Leanna is our daughter and she sometimes has crying spells and bursts of temper tantrums, refusing her food or deliberately doing something we’ve told her not to do! She is sometimes ridiculously stubborn and very very vocal when she wants her way – but – she is still our daughter. We love her. We always will – no matter what.
We are but human… and parents!
We were on our way to the market last …
