I had someone recently ask me-
“How is it you always look like this… like it’s so easy?”

I was pleasantly surprised and honestly, intrigued.

Does she really know what my morning was like? The baby woke up at 5! Yup, 5am…as opposed to the usual 6am! I had to drag my feet out of bed to attend to her but I guess I was too slow because her screams woke up my toddler and now well, everyone’s screaming…me included! What a ‘I want to pull my hair out’ moment!

The help then decided to come late which ended up in me having a mini panic attack because now I had a messy floor with breakfast crumbs strewn all over and my toddler who refused to get dressed for school and NO time to attend to either!

An hour later, wearing my trustworthy pair of shorts and a tee and minimal makeup, I finally head out the door – toddler in tow! School…here we come!

After dropping her and shaking off that constant lingering worry I’ve been carrying around lately, another mum asks me-
“How do you look like this… like it’s so easy!”

Despite everything my brain was thinking of at that moment, I smiled.

I smiled.

Sometimes, that’s all it takes.

It got me thinking. I smile a lot. Inspite of the chaos of performing the mundane activities of life as a mum, I’m genuinely happy.

My source, you’re wondering? It has to be Jesus.

No one tells you how tough and tiring motherhood can be and how much of a toll it can take on your sanity at times but I believe that our Father in Heaven reserves an extra large potion of grace and strength for us mothers! All you’ve got to do is—claim it.

Every morning my husband and I pray together— for our kids, our families and ourselves and that’s when I ask Jesus to give me just enough strength and grace for that day. It works! It does.

I know many Mommas out there who are probably struggling right now or you’re in one those ‘phases’ with your kids or you’re just having a tough day! I’d like to say that you’re doing an amazing job!

It’s not easy. With every phase comes a new responsibility…and challenges! I’d like to encourage all you Mommas out there to claim your portion today.
Claim it. Believe it.

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
